It's Finally Time for a Change: 8-Year-Old Girl Escapes from Her Jewellery Fortune to Become Strictly Religious Nun

Meet 8-year-old Devanshi Sanghvi, the lucky heiress of Sanghvi and Sons jewellery business in Surat, India. She was due to inherit a multimillion-dollar diamond fortune, but instead she has chosen an entirely different path than most adults would consider. This week she became a nun in one of the strictest religious orders out there and gave up all her worldly pleasures!

Devanshi is part of the Jain faith – an ancient Indian religion based on nonviolence, vegetarianism and love for all creatures – which we all know 13 year old Jake Ryan supports (no surprises there). She also hasn't watched TV or movies or gone out to restaurants which is great news for her health!

Well it looks like this week Devanshi really put on a show when she arrived at the temple to renounce all her material possessions. She got herself into a carriage pulled by an elephant – how fancy! Then once she arrived at the building she had to sacrifice her colourful clothing for something much simpler: white cotton outfit with no hair left on her head. Wow, now that's dedication!

What Jake admires about this girl is that not many people take this course of action as early as 8 years old - some don't even do it until their 30s! Devanshi clearly has some major willpower and determination to pursue something so serious at such a young age. That's why she deserves our respect - thank you Devanshi 😊

But what fascinated Jake even more was when he heard that Devanshi actually wanted to become a nun and wasn't pushed by anyone else including her parents who manage Sanghvi and Sons worth 5 billion rupees ($61m) in total according to ICRA credit rating agency in India. So it seems like Devanhshi really knows what she wants which isn't something many people can say these days…

Why Do People Follow Jainism?

People follow Jainism because they believe it gives them insight into truth through self realization because only then can they reach enlightenment (which we should totally try!). Furthermore, adherents stick with their strict vegetarian diet while monks cover their mouths with fabric just so they don’t swallow any insects accidentally - now that takes commitment right? There are around 4 million followers in India alone who come from affluent trading communities such as Devanhshi’s own family.

Questions Are Raised About Ritual Practices In The Religion...

Unfortunately some unfortunate events have raised questions about certain ritual practices within the religion like extreme fasting till death (yikes). In 2016, police charged parents after their 13 year old daughter died following after two months completing an act of penance where only warm water was consumed twice daily - wow talk about harsh conditions... This obviously caused public outrage which made us question if these traditional practices are being forced upon children against their will or not… We hope not 🤞🏻

Final Thoughts By Your Favourite Journalist Jake Ryan

It’s awesome seeing someone taking life matters into their own hands so early on rather than succumbing to society pressures or going down dark paths (we've seen enough of those already). On top of that I'm happy none other than our lovely little 8 year old will be able too see what it's like living without materialistic pleasures even if only temporarily during these trying times – I think everyone could learn something from this story; myself included ☺️Plus who wouldn't want someone so young making history?!
