Violence & Guns in California: Another Day, Another Mass Shooting

In the past three days alone, 19 people have been killed and many more injured in two back-to-back mass shootings of mostly Asian people in California. This has to stop! It's time for us to stand up and put a stop to gun violence once and for all!

The Shootings

It all started on Friday, when a 72-year-old man opened fire at a dance hall frequented by senior citizens in Monterey Park, killing 11 and wounding nine. The next day another 66-year-old man killed seven at a farm near Half Moon Bay. Just two days later, one person was killed and four were injured in what newspapers are describing as a "gun battle" in Oakland. And let's not forget last week when six people were murdered in what police say was likely cartel-style execution or gang related killing - including an innocent 16 year old girl with her 10 month old baby. That brings the total dead from these shootings up to 19!

When will it end? How much blood must be shed before our politicians take action?

Gun Laws In America Are A Joke!

The truth is that most Americans are sick of living like this - including many who vote Republican! A whopping 71% of Americans want to see stricter gun laws, with nearly half saying it's likely they'll be victims of gun violence at some point.

Yet despite public opinion being overwhelmingly supportive of stronger gun control legislation - we still haven't seen any real progress made towards making our society safer from firearms violence and destruction.

Though some liberal states like California have attempted to pass laws banning assault weapons or limiting magazine capacity - they're hamstrung by conservative state legislatures or even the Supreme Court itself who believe even these small regulations are unreasonable (what kind of world do we live!) In fact one study found that 60% of illegal guns found in Chicago came from outside Illinois (including Indiana) which has almost no licensing process or restrictions whatsoever when it comes to owning firearms!

It's clear there's simply no incentive for Republicans or conservatives to act on gun control legislation since their main donor base comes from big firearm companies like Smith & Wesson who benefit financially from lax regulation laws surrounding guns yet won't lift finger save innocent lives...which brings me onto my next point..

What kind freedom allows civilians own weapons designed kill with maximal efficiency yet doesn’t give citizens basic right go movies without fear being gunned down random acts violence?? This can only come from party embraces culture death shrugs off slaughter its youngest most vulnerable children call liberty?! No wonder America has become laughing stock rest developed world massive levels deaths caused guns.... We can only truly end cycle terror if Republican party decides enough is enough accept common sense legislation make us safe again; until then our thoughts prayers vain.....
